Thomas never expected that for his promotion.
All of the rail yard had gathered for Thomas' promotion. The Fat Controller would have been the one to honor Thomas, but it was due to his passing that he was being promoted in the first place; Thomas was going to control the railroad activity of the entire Island of Sodor. He was beaming the entire time.
For Thomas, it felt like just yesterday that he was a pilot engine in Vicarstown. His promotion to being in charge of the Farquhar branch line was great, but even that was surpassed exponentially by the position he was assuming now. During the dinner he could barely compose himself.
As the announcement was made, everyone gave Thomas a standing ovation. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day; Thomas couldn't have asked for more.
However, just when he couldn't have asked for more, Thomas transformed into some kind of terrible beast and did ask for more.
“MORE! MORE!” he yelled while grabbing random objects and throwing them around, causing a considerable amount of damage.
“OK, OK!” shouted Gordon, trying to calm Thomas down. “Here, take this!”
Gordon handed him the Peace Bi-Fold Clutch Wallet. Thomas stopped what he was doing, stared hard at the wallet and left without saying another word.
